Proper List of Hanna-Barbera Shows

just thought this would be handy as i see alot of mistakes being made when people upload random shows that are not H-B

this list of shows only includes that made by the Hanna-Barbera studios from 1957 to 1998 , anything after that is not HB...
but more cartoon network simply with the HB logo's at the end credits of their shows because the characters themself are HB characters.

the first thing i'll do here is give a few example of what is not H-B , but sites like wikipedia etc. add for no reason whatsoever to the HB shows list.

- Tom and Jerry

these are characters from WAY before there was such a thing as the H-B studios, this includes the 60's shows.
the only ones belonging in the list is the tom and jerry/grape ape/mumbly show from 1975 and tom and jerry kids from 1990

- The Banana Splits and Friends show

this is simply material of the original 31 full hour shows rehashed/cut/edited/etc to make 23 min. long episodes for re-air in syndication during the 90's

- Amigo and Friends

this show was made by Televisa and it's origin is mexican , H-B only dubbed this show into english , they did not make it or have anything other to do with it other than that.

- Space Ace

i sometimes see this listed as a HB show aswel.....

- The Berenstein Bears

hanna-barbera is nowhere to be found in the credits

- Seabert

although wikipedia seems to have actually removed this one , you can still see this labled as another HB show every now and then.

- Dink, The Little Dinosaur

this is a ruby-spears production and hanna-barbera is nowhere to be found in the credits..

- Captain Planet and the Planeteers

ONLY season 4-to 6 are considered Hanna-Barbera , but those were renamed to The New Adventures of Captain Planet

- Thundarr, The Barberian

this is a ruby-spears production and again HB is nowhere to be found in the credits
and even WB is releasing this faulty as a title in their MOD Hanna-Barbera classic's collection

- Dumb and Dumber

again HB is nowhere to be found in the credits whatsoever



other things that shouldn't be on the list but ARE Hanna-Barbera
is pretty much every 70's/80's/90's tv program block , to give a few example this includes the following:

- Fred Flintstone and Friends
- Hanna-Barbera's World of Super Adventure
- The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera
- Wake, Ratlle and Roll

why? because these were just that.... program blocks.
there is no point into adding these to a list because they were mostly made for a certain tv channel and will never be seen again.

onto the main list , i dont have anything put together with original filenames other than the banana splits adventure hour , because the shows air as loose shorts on tv and not as complete shows like originally aired anymore...

i also left out any specials/movies/pilots and or Live Action shows


NOTE: some of the early 60's shows might have wrong years attached to them , this is because full episode lists of complete show such as the huckleberry hound show on wikipedia list shorts of certain shows as aired before they were actually aired , most notable would be hokey wolf, a good example for not matching up is the sofar unconfirmed "boobs in the woods" which wikipedia says aired october 23 1960.

however, a dedicated person on the bcdb forums posted this about that matter:

- the L.A Times of March 14, 1961 says of Huck:

This show also brings the debut of a new personality, Hokey Wolf,
and his little pal, Ding A Ling.

- an NEA syndicated story on Hanna-Barbera on Jan. 31, 1961 says:

And there probably will be a better year ahead. . .
Barbera says they've decided to give Yogi Bear,
one of the characters on the Huckleberry Hound show, his own program.
this will introduce new characters, so pretty soon you'll
be meeting such actors as Hokey Wolf and Dingaling (two wolves)
Snagglepuss (a mountain lion) and Yakky Doodle (a duck).


and last but not least is a correct overview of all the Superfriends shows which alot of people seem to have issues with of what is and isnt on dvd and or which year they are from , i myself had issues at first aswel, but moonsong explains it nicely therefore i will use his list.


- 1973-1974 season: Super Friends (16 1hr episodes)
- 1977-1978 season: The All-New Super Friends Hour (15 1hr episodes, each containing a half hour ep and 3 shorts)
- 1978-1979 season: All-New Super Friends/Challenge of the Super Friends (16 half hour eps of each)
- 1979-1980 season: The World's Greatest Super Friends (8 1hr episodes, each containing a half hour ep and 3 shorts)
- 1980-1982 season: Super Friends (while mostly reruns, there were 18 new shorts)
- 1983-1984 season: Super Friends "lost episodes" (24 shorts)
- 1984-1985 season: Super Friends: The Legendary Super Powers Show (8 half hour episodes containing 2 segments)
- 1985-1986 season: The Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians (8 half hour episodes containing 2 segments)
